The new implantation in Amposta will form, with the S. Carles de la Ràpita, a urban system defined structurally by two lines of communication: Road traffic by the N-340 and waterway traffic by the Carles III Channel.
The development of the dwellings is connected with these pre-existing infrastructures optimizing their use. The urban density and the mixture of land use can minimize movement.
The situation of the buildings takes into account the orientation and relation with the water surroundings projected. The environmental conditions and the application of garden decks moderate the exterior climate and to reduce the air conditioning expenses. Solar plates and photovoltaic cells generate a big part of the necessary energy.
At the time of construction we use recycled materials like iron, and we take advantage of the thermal inertia of heavy materials such as granulated concrete, that will not generate a excessive energetic expense in the case of future demolition.
In conclusion our proposal can be explained in four basic concepts: compactness, complexity, efficiency and integration.
