The project tries to recreate the original topologic and morphologic values of this renaissance palace and locate inside the public services of the archive, as well as its information offices.
The interventions determining the renovation of the site were the nucleus of vertical communications and the bathrooms along with the general entrance desk in the lower floor of this nucleus.
From this backbone the different levels ascend: In the usable corridors of the lower floor the exhibit halls are positioned and have an independent access from the rest of the Archives. The public acts hall is situated on the noble floor taking advantage of the existing ornamented vestibule and the representatives offices.
The intervention tends to value the building as a public space, underlining the function of the patio as a space open to the city by means of the double entrance from the Paza del Rey and the Los Comtes Street.
