The Llobregat delta is a natural environment where man has modified the landscape several times, in different periods and on different scales. The nature, the place, the dimensions of the fields and of the beach, the light and the sea have absorbed certain elements (gardens, canals, artificial lakes, sheds) resulting in a ‘new landscape’, not strictly natural.

A rigid neo-classical structure with a insolitary military use, the old Carabineri Barracks, turned into ruins and has become a part of this new landscape, not as natural anymore as it once has been, but with enough variety and tranquility for the birds to bread.

The presence of such a formal architecture as the Semaforo, almost like an altar, deprived of its function, in a state of ruin which changes the conception of elements like the roofs, introduces a strange relation with its surroundings.

A modern version of the classical ruin, isolated from the landscape, creates an act of mutual esthetical legitimization.

The inclinated walkway is at the same time a path and a place to stand still, a route and a viewpoint. Its materialization establishes through its artificiality a dialogue with the fences and walkways that exist in other zones of the park.
