Control the footprint: from reconnecting the city to the environmental respect
In 1980 the team Amadó-Domènech arquitectes with Ramon Domènech took part in the redaction of the Plan for the historical center of Lleida,a project awarded of the National Urban Planning Prize in 1986. In the following years, thanks to the profound knowledge of the Modernist architecture of Domènech I Montaner, they took on several refurbishments of the architect’s works. The most important example of these interventions is the renovation of the publishing house Montaner I Simón which became than the Tàpies Foundation, project awarded from Robert Venturi and Denise Scott-Brown. Later on, the family Amadó Domènech worked on many other projects inside the urban planning of the Ciutat Vella (city center) and the Eixample Cerdà. The particular inclination for sustainability of Amadó, Laudy and R.Domènech, was a further push for B01 towards a sustainable and recyclable architecture: the DOM system a system of prefabrication applicable in several architectural typologies.
